“‘I Wanna Love You (For the Night)’ is not another cliched love song. It’s a modern, female version of Marvin Gaye’s ‘Sexual Healing,’ contextualized by today’s dating world.’ The song speaks to my 20-something-year-old audience, who are often trapped in a ‘hookup culture.’ This song is meant to combat the disrespectful men I have encountered living in New York City. I wrote this song one night after this guy kept texting me and asking me to come over at 3 a.m. Finally, I had enough of his disrespectful comments and wrote a song from the perspective of a woman objectifying her potential lover. I’m saying to young men, ‘How would you feel if I disrespected you the way you disrespect young women like me?’” – ZØ Marie explained

‘I Wanna Love You (For the Night)’ contains soft vocals and a relevant narrative that will resonate well with anyone who’s currently an active participant in today’s dating culture. The song will be featured on Zø Marie’s upcoming debut album, entitled, “Soulmate.” The project – comparable to a woven road with twists, turns, highs, and lows – details Marie’s journey of love in her early 20s.

Marie grew up hearing soulful music from the stereo at home – The Temptations, Michael Jackson, Prince, The Isley Brothers, Marvin Gaye, and Teena Marie. Evidence of her birthright into soul shows on the lightly intoxicating first single, “Alright,” a moody R&B guitar over a musically chill vibe that takes you back to simpler times.

“‘Alright’ is about falling in and out of love anew. Not trippin’ on status, I’m just glad we have it, ‘cause you’re all that matters to me, speaks to the overall meaning of the song. I’m alright with falling in love for the first time again. How my new love and I define our relationship is not important to me.” – ZØ Marie explained

ZØ Marie songwriting abilities and vocal training have grown significantly while being vocally coached by the legendary singer, Jean Carn, who stated, “ZØ Marie is hardworking, a quick study, and has an acute harmonic sensibility.”

Marie, set to graduate next year (2024), has grown in her vocal training and as a person while working with Ms. Carn. Her personality sets her apart as a genuine human whose word is solid. Ultimately, Marie’s goal is to spread love and positivity.
