Winifred (@winifred.music) is a rising singer-songwriter based in London, the U.K., and Townsville, Australia. Not long ago, she released a music video for her mesmerizing new “Blue Fire” single via MNRK. Accompanying the new song is a brand-new music video shot in a whirlwind ‘one night’ shoot with director Luis Campbell.

“I shot the music video for ‘Blue Fire’ in one night at VENTspace studio with director Luis Campbell and Kurt Schwerdt on camera. It was a breezy shoot, and a great team to work with.” – Winifred stated
“Blue Fire” contains arpeggiating strings and synths, and the Caroline Polachek-esque electronic production acts as a perfect mesh. The song sees Winifred continue more of those ambitious alternative-pop textures she has been building for herself since she first emerged. With her voice and performance as enthralling as ever, she looks to embark on the next phase within her ascending career with this powerful new release.
“Blue Fire” was lifted from Winifred’s eagerly awaited new EP, “Carpet of Flowers” [April 26th], which is the follow-up to the 2022’s breakthrough debut collection “EP1.”

“I wrote ‘Blue Fire’ as a mood piece. To me, it’s a sensory-inspired phrase. It’s a reflection of desire and self-awareness. When your desire is just out of reach, maybe in some rare cases, that’s where it’s meant to stay. My aim was for the production to feel simultaneously ethereal and gritty while remaining kind of understated throughout. Low-key bedroom bop energy.” – Winifred commented
Winifred released her debut project, “EP1,” in early 2022. Her single “Drowning Purple” was featured in the 2021 series of Love Island UK, and her single “Into The Night” is currently being played on Fortnite Radio. More recently, Winifred’s single “Into The Night” has recently been synced in beauty brand SHISIEIDO’s advert for the fragrance, Ginza Night.

Outside of her project, Winifred has co-written for other artists including Alice Ivy’s 2019 single, “In My Mind,” featured in a global ‘Shot & Edited on iPhone’ Apple TVC. Her most recent collaboration was with London-based producer Tutara Peak on the single “Orbit” in January of this year, earning nods from BBC Introducing and a host of Spotify playlists including featuring at No10 on the Spotify Fresh Finds playlist and No2 on the Spotify Fresh Finds Indie playlist.
