WAYI [wa-yee] is a singer-songwriter from Belgium. Not too long ago, she released a lovely R&B tune, entitled, “Insecure”.
WAYI – “Insecure”
“Did you ever fall for someone who can’t help dating different people at the same time? I did but not for long! Trust me, it feels like shit, especially when you’re jealous. Not to mention it also feeds unnecessary insecurities, affecting your self-love along the way. I need someone who’s 100% into me, no more, no less.” – WAYI
‘Insecure’ tells a bittersweet tale about a relationship stained by doubt and a lack of trust and loyalty.
The song contains a relatable storyline, sweet soul vocals, and lush instrumentation flavored with smooth R&B, jazz, and modern-soul elements.
‘Insecure’ is featured on WAYI’s highly anticipated debut EP, entitled, “Love in Progress”. The 5-track project was written by WAYI, produced by James Lowland, and will be released on March 27, 2019.
WAYI
“I’ve dealt with a rollercoaster of emotions I never felt before. And to try to understand and control them, I jot down my feelings, no filter. Whether it’s jealousy, happiness, or sadness. I write about it as one would in a diary. Listening back to my songs, it feels like a psychologist telling me straight up what is really going on in my heart. As we all know, it’s easy to ignore your own emotions sometimes. My songs work as a therapy for me and I hope my music will help other people the same way it helps me.” – WAYI
Some people find music but music found WAYI. The bubbly entertainer grew up in church and spent most of her childhood with the gospel as her faithful companion.
Throughout the years, she studied and covered her favorite acts, which eventually inspired her to write. What started as innocent stories and novels slowly blossomed into a bouquet of lyrics about the purest and most complex feeling: Love.
With a subtle delicateness and refreshing honesty, WAYI explores every petal and thorn of this universal theme, narrating her own experiences.
