Wax Statues is a mello-psychedelia trio outta San Francisco, California. Not too long ago, they released a lyric video for “It Was All A Dream”, the lead single from their debut album, entitled, “Exclusive/Reclusive”.
“It Was All A Dream”
“The lyric video is an exercise in people watching. Everyone that passes you in the street has their own hopes and dreams, and their own struggles to live a normal life. As if you are looking into yourself with each person that you pass.”

“The song is about the choices we make in life. How futile some of them could be. Everything we want to achieve in life is only a dream until we’ve acted upon it. For most choices in our lives, after a period of time, the action becomes nothing but a faraway dream. It’s about the struggle to live a ‘normal’ life while also trying to work towards creative pursuits.”

In conclusion, Wax Statues’ music is a blend of jangly surf inspired guitars, lush 70’s and 80’s synth performances, and melodic bass lines held together by catchy psych pop rhythms. Also, it is punctuated by harmonies and dreamy lead lines.
