Tree Thomas – “Yucallme”
“This is my first time doing a project with all live instrumentation and I loved it. The learning curve and the process were tough but I fell in love with both. Being in the room while WAXROOF constructed beats from random instruments laying around his room were amazing to see and be a part of.” – Tree Thomas
‘Yucallme’ tells a tale of a young man who receives an unexpected phone call from a desirable female who he was once in a romantic relationship with. Apparently, things didn’t work out between them and he ended up with a broken heart. Also, the phone call brought back unexpected memories and feelings which he drastically failed to suppress.
Thoughts about them together again filtered into his mind, and suddenly, he misses her warm embrace. Therefore, he calls her back but is unable to reach her.
After some time, he starts to question her initial phone call and concludes that maybe it would be a good idea if she didn’t call him back anymore.
‘Yucallme’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and rhythmic instrumentation flavored with hip-hop and contemporary R&B elements.
