For the “Camel’s Back” music video, Tlya X An collaborated with Bristol-based videographer Phoebe Ashford for the 7th edition of The Sunset People, an upcoming Bristol music documentary that highlights the city’s underground music and art scene. The video seeks to depict the changes and transformations we undergo as individuals on our personal journeys. To reflect this, the visuals traverse through nature, striking landscapes, and surrealist imagery.
“Camels Back” is a raw and heartfelt track inspired by the moment when life falls apart, leaving you with nothing but the truth. The inspiration for the track came when Tlya heard her father improvising some chords on his guitar (which are featured in the song). The song was then written effortlessly in minutes, like a message channeling through. She then layered in beats, a bass line, additional guitars, and her vocals.
“Camel’s Back” explores awakenings and the difficult truths we must confront to grow. It’s a moment of pain that ultimately gave way to hope. The song follows the success of Tlya’s previously released single, “Ninja.”
