Through The Roots & Busy Signal – “Refund” single
“I created this song and video to put a fun highlight on the sugar daddy topic. It’s a cool afrobeat concept that I came up with and I think people will definitely dance to this song.” – IzyBeats stated
‘Refund’ brings a fresh spin to the ‘80s dancehall sound with modern production flair and catchy, clever lyrics. The song contains a lighthearted take on the toxic-ex experience. Fans of Pacific Dub, Common Kings, and Maoli will treasure this tune.
“Where is my receipt? I want my heart back.”
Through The Roots found mentors in Cali-based reggae bands like the Grammy-nominated, Rebelution, who began inviting Through The Roots on a series of nationwide tours. Word spread and crowds grew. The band kept writing and exploring new sounds, working their way towards a truly unique sound that blended tradition with technology.
In 2019, they teamed up with LAW Records to release their second full-length album, “Arrival,” which was followed up by several nationwide tours to support the project. In July 2020, Through The Roots joined Ineffable Records, aiming to put forward their best work yet with their new genre-bending single, “At Peace,” featuring Lutan Fyah, and the summertime smash, “Cool Down,” featuring Pepper & Katastro.
