SMIDRIN is an up-and-coming rapper outta Harlem, New York. Not too long ago, he released his brand-new EP, entitled, “EMOsapian”. We caught up with the rising rapper and this is what he had to say.
What’s life like in Harlem?
SMIDRIN: Life out here is rough but you learn so much from the struggle. I grew up in a neighborhood where if you don’t got it, you go and get it. Although we didn’t have much, we always made sure to look our best and treat every day like a new day to come up.

Tell us about the lead single from your EP.
SMIDRIN – “IDRC”
S: “IDRC” was inspired by previous relationships and encounters with women in my life. Channeling that energy of pain, hurt and betrayal, as time went by I realized I don’t really care.
What’s the greatest obstacle you had to overcome?
S: Being myself. As an artist, you come across points in your career where you do things out of character or try to do something cause you seen it work. Everybody’s journey is different and once I realized that, I started to be myself.
