Abstract Orchestra (an 18-piece-band) and Young RJ (one half of the legendary hip-hop group “Slum Village” and Grammy-nominated producer) release a complete rendition of the classic, “Fantastic Vol. 2” album, produced by Jay Dee (a.k.a. J Dilla).
‘Fantastic 2020, Vol. 1’, a 10-track sonic adventure, finds Abstract Orchestra replaying Slum Village’s “Vol. 2” in honor of their 20th-Anniversary release, “Fantastic 2020 V. 1 & V. 2”. Also, as a tribute to the original founding members—T3 and the late J Dilla and Baatin.

The project and assembly of workmanship came together during Slum Village’s & Abstract Orchestra’s 2019 tour, introduced by Slum Village’s manager.
Young RJ, joined by Rob Mitchell (bandleader for Abstract Orchestra) took the introduction and began recording the project.
‘Fantastic 2020 V.2’ will be released on December 13, 2019.
Abstract Orchestra
Abstract Orchestra has three studio albums: “Dilla”, “MADVILLAIN Vol. 1”, “MADVILLAIN Vol. 2”, and a single, entitled, “New Day” featuring Illa J. Also, they have supported Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) and toured with Illa J and Slum Village.
The 18-piece-all-star-band creates unique music that is both heavy and beautiful, pushing the boundaries of live hip-hop.
The band includes musicians who have toured with some of the top acts in the world including Jamiroquai, Corinne Bailey Rae, Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, John Legend, The Roots, Roots Manuva, Rag ‘n’ bone Man, Adele, Estelle, and Lily Allen.
