“I wrote ‘Out of My Hands’ last summer together with three of my favorite songwriters: Freddy Alexander, SHY Nodi, and Madison Love. The song is about leaving behind a destructive relationship that you’ve become addicted to. When you’ve been in a relationship for a long time it’s easier and less painful to stay in it, rather than leave it behind, as it’s so hard at the time to know who you are without the other person. I think that’s the reason why people tend to romanticize destructive relationships, and why it’s so easy to fall right back into them.” – SHY Martin
‘Out of My Hands’ tells an interesting tale of a young woman who struggles to get over her ex-boyfriend.
Every night, when she’s alone in her bedroom, she misses him bad because she still cares about him. Later, she admits that she puts on the lights because she’s scared of the dark when he’s not around.
‘Out of My Hands’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and lush instrumentation flavored with sentimental elements.

“I was never good at talking about my feelings so I wrote them down instead. When I felt sad, me and my mum wrote letters to each other about it. So expressing myself through songs came pretty naturally for me.” – SHY Martin
SHY Martin was raised in the small town of Lerdala, Sweden. She began writing songs and poetry in her youth as a means of self-expression.
‘Out of My Hands’ follows the release of her debut EP, entitled, “Overthinking”, which has amassed over 100M streams online via Spotify.
