Sanjeeta Bhattacharya – “Red” music video
“‘Red’ is a home-grown, remotely produced, international collaboration with musicians based in three countries – Madagascar, U.S.A., and India. The track features Malagasy singer-songwriter Niu Raza and Boston-based guitarist and producer Aman Sagar, who are fellow Berklee College of Music graduates. Also, it features Delhi-based producer Pranay Parti who plays keys for Pakshee. This would be my first time experimenting with neo-soul and hip-hop.” – Sanjeeta Bhattacharya stated
‘Red’ addresses how easy it is to lose perspective of what really matters the most in pursuit of conventional success. Also, when we lose our roots in this pursuit, music plants us firmly to the ground and helps us reclaim our own red.
‘Red’ contains a thought-provoking narrative, English and Malagasy vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the likable tune possesses jazzy instrumentation flavored with an elegant neo-soul vibration. Furthermore, the “Red” artwork draws parallels between the Bengali and Malagasy cultures of India and Madagascar with the use of face paint that exists in their ritualistic practices.
