RUNN unveils a compelling emo-pop tune, entitled, “Misery”

RUNN is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California. Not too long ago, she released a compelling emo-pop tune, entitled, “Misery”.

RUNN – “Misery” single

“I pull up my hoodie, pretend that I’m invisible. I’m kinda sorta miserable. But you know ‘cause you know me, and knowing me is difficult. I’m kinda sorta miserable and when I get cut, it cuts a little deeper. When I fall in love, the fall’s a little steeper. So I hide in my hoodie ‘cause I can really feel it all. And I don’t want to feel at all.” – lyrics

‘Misery’ tells a bittersweet tale of a miserable young woman who shares a compassionate relationship with someone who is sad and miserable just like her. Apparently, her companion understands when she’s hurting and sheds passionate tears when she cries. Later, she admits that misery loves company because she and her partner fits so well together.

‘Misery’ contains a relatable narrative, pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the likable tune possesses moody instrumentation flavored with a warm commercial pop aroma. Furthermore, “Misery” serves as a wonderful presentation to what listeners can expect to hear on RUNN’s highly anticipated debut EP via Seeking Blue.

RUNN - “Misery” cover

“‘Misery’ is a song about the force of empathy. How two broken people can be beautifully supportive of one another. It’s easy to feel alone when you get lost in your head and having someone who understands and joins you in that space rather than trying to fix it is amazing. And it can be your partner, your friend, your dog, etc. I love this song because it’s such a happy sounding bop but with pretty heavy undercurrents.” – RUNN stated

RUNN originally made a name for herself within the dance space. So far, she has collaborated with influential artists ranging from Illenium to Seven Lions while allotting millions of streams in the process. Not too long ago, she made an appearance at Groove Cruise Virtual Sail Aways, which donated 100% of their proceeds to the Whet Foundation’s COVID-19 Relief Fund.
