Dualities is an Italian DJ/producer duo. Pure Shores (Marlene and Ji) is a musical duo from Sweden. Not too long ago, they released a lovely dance-pop anthem, entitled, “The One That Got Away,” co-written by Pure Shores and Johan Gustafsson (Pussycat Dolls, Armin van Buuren, A Boogie Wit A Hoodie).

‘The One That Got Away’ tells a heartfelt tale about a young woman who struggles to get over her ex-significant other. Apparently, her ex played her like a violin; and now, she can’t seem to forget about him. Later, she tells her ex, “I’ll never be the one who’s on your mind, who gets your time. I know it won’t be me. Someone else is touching your body. You’re no longer mine, and you’ll never be.”
‘The One That Got Away’ contains a bittersweet narrative, up-tempo rhythms, and ear-pleasing vocals that will resonate well with fans of Partial Sum, Bomberjak, and Ella Henderson. The dancefloor-ready tune possesses groovy bass-laden instrumentation bursting with electro-pop, EDM, and dance-pop elements. Furthermore, “The One That Got Away” follows mildly on the heels of Dualities’ previously released single, entitled, “Do It All Again.”

Pure Shores was formed in 2019 as an outlet for releasing music and writing and producing for other artists. Collectively, the duo has earned over 50 million streams worldwide along with features and credits ranging from global artists such as Giorgio Moroder, TAEMIN, and Don Diablo.
