Obeeyay (@obeeyay Oba Bonner) is an emerging singer-songwriter from Salt Lake City, Utah. Not too long ago, he released a lovely, feel-good R&B single, “Ride.”

Obeeyay blends Pop, soul, and R&B into infectious melodies that explore themes of love, self-discovery, and navigating the complexities of growing up in his hometown. Steeped in music from a young age, Obeeyay honed his craft performing across North America and Africa alongside his renowned family group, The Bonners, whose rich harmonies and uplifting messages continue to inspire him. So far, the 25-year-old singer has worked with Brandy, Queen Latifah, and Jojo.
Obeeyay honed his songwriting skills during his early teens after moving from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles. After gaining many years of experience writing for other artists, he moved back to his native state of Utah to focus on his career as a solo act. Obeeyay is most notable for his remake of “Sunflower” from the blockbuster Spiderman film, Into the Spider-Verse.

“‘Hard’ is really for the untouchable couple. I wrote it thinking of all the times people doubted my relationship with the girl I was with throughout school, wanting to prove a point that when I’m with her, nobody can say anything cause we’re untouchable. The very first time I met Sensho the producer, he played me a draft of the beat at Paramount Recording Studios, and the melody that came to me was like downloading, it was like the song was written in my head already and was meant to be. I want my peers to go hard with this one.” – Obeeyay explained
Obeeyay is one of the hottest live performers in Utah, having performed several times for live audiences at Utah Jazz games.
