Nicki Minaj is a hip-hop emcee out of Queens, New York. Not too long ago, she released a flamboyant music video for “Barbie Dreams”, a lyrical parody track from her “Queen” album.
Nicki Minaj – “Barbie Dreams”
“I tried to f*ck 50 for a powerful hour. But all that ni^^a wanna do is talk ‘Power’ for hours. B-beat the pussy up, make sure it’s a KO. Step ya Banks up like you’re movin’ that Yayo. Somebody go and make sure Karrueche okay though. I heard she think I’m tryna give the couchie to Quavo…”. – lyrics
The Hype Williams-directed video begins with a Muppet introducing Nicki Minaj. The following scenes find her wearing extravagant outfits while performing in front of vibrant backdrops. Also, custom-made Muppets, resembling rappers that Minaj is rapping about, assist her in visualizing the story that she is telling.

“Barbie Dreams” is a remix of The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Just Playing (Dreams)” single. But the difference is B.I.G. talked about sexin’ popular female artists and Minaj’s version targets famous male rappers. Also, her remix takes a chapter out of 50 Cent’s “How to Rob” book.
The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Just Playing (Dreams)”
“Shout outs to B.I.G. You are still inspiring rappers every day. This man is still inspiring me every day. He’s one of the first rappers who had a sense of humor. I love dope writers who can write bars and make you laugh. Eminem [after that] too. I think [humor] shows a person’s IQ.” – Nicki Minaj
