Neon Dreams (Frank Kadillac, Adrian Morris) is a pop outfit based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Not too long ago, they released a music video for their “about you…” single.

“about you…” tells an interesting tale of a young guy who dreams that his significant other is a red maple leaf that’s losing its identity on a tall tree.
Apparently, due to chaos, the leaf is drying out while pieces of it are simultaneously falling to the ground.
Later, the guy admits that he’s the selfish tree, the one she looked up too when she was connected to him. Now, all he does is think about her. Also, the rain could possibly represent the tears from his eyes.
“about you…” contains a bittersweet storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and groovy instrumentation scented with an alternative-pop aroma.

What inspired the song?
Neon Dreams: It’s funny where my imagination goes in seconds when nature intrigued me. I was watching a leaf fall off a tree and I just felt like I could relate to that very moment. Having to let go of something felt like a part of me was sad but uplifting because it’s a sign of growth. Letting go of things that serve your life no purpose would be a great song to write about.
What was the recording experience like?
ND: We rented a cabin just outside Halifax to get away from the city, and we finished the track with Corey LeRue. It’s magical just getting away from everyday distractions to focus on something you believe in.
What do you want people to take away from the song?
ND: Me growing up listening to music, I always interpreted songs differently even if I got the lyrics wrong. I preferred the messed up lyric version I made. So I’ll let everyone interpret it however they want. But when you’re listening to Neon Dreams, there’s always a message somewhere in that song.
What are your plans for the next year?
ND: I just started understanding why I am the way I am and I’m finally able to express that through our next body of work. It’s something our fans been waiting for.

Neon Dreams is known for their live performances and irresistible radio-friendly bops.
At the start of 2019, they toured 21 dates with close friend Ria Mae and a return to Canadian Top 40 radio with the release of “High School Dropout”.

The band first turned heads in 2016 with their Gold-certified single, entitled, “Marching Bands”. Later, because of the success of the song, they won Best New Group at the 2017 Canadian Radio Music Awards and later performed at the Juno Awards.
