So Sick

Have you ever found yourself trapped in the whirlwind that is your best friend’s quirky boyfriend? Enter “So Sick,” an indie pop track that encapsulates that chaotic vibe. With delightfully cheeky lyrics, this song manages to balance disdain playfully.

Lines like “You make me ahhh so sick but keep playing it cool,” feel like a playful slap on the face of that person you just can’t take seriously. The artistic flair of the lyrics speaks volumes about feelings, especially when it comes to that friend who can’t see past their infatuation.

Overall, “So Sick” resonates with fans of artists like Lola Young, Remi Wolf, and SZA, creating a vibrant atmosphere that’s fun and relatable. The song is a reminder that sometimes, the quirkiest characters in our lives can also make us sick. The charm of “So Sick” lies in its ability to resonate emotionally without taking itself too seriously.

In her own words, Sara Flint explains, “I was scrolling on my phone and came across a photo of my best friend and her boyfriend. And I thought: ‘She’s way out of his league! She could do so much better.’ Feel like a lot of us have high standards for our friends’ love interests. So, I’m sure people can relate to this. So that sent me into a spiral of how many amazing women end up dating sh*t men (most often, with names starting with J – The J name phenomenon is real!). This song is about that situation, and how it gives me the ick – still does. We wanted the song to be cheeky and playful with the silly vocal ad-libs and autotuned outro. To make the most out of a silly situation and reflect some of the personalities of these silly guys.”
