Meyru is an indie-rock trio based in New York City. Not too long ago, they released a charming rock tune, entitled, “Something I Like”.

Meyru – “Something I Like” single

“‘Something I Like’ is a song we wrote after a long weekend of partying in Montreal with our friends that lived there at the time. On the surface, the song is about driving through the night to make it back to NYC in time for our day jobs at 9 AM. But the song really describes trying to shake the comedown of a weekend high. As well as the feelings you have for a person after just a few nights. All while trying to stay awake at the wheel and make it back to the real world.” – Meyru

‘Something I Like’ is the second single from Meyru’s upcoming summer album, entitled, “Good To See You”. The likable tune contains a relatable storyline, raspy vocals, and energetic instrumentation flavored with killer drums and grimy guitar interludes.

Meyru possesses songwriting sensibility reminiscent of The Cars and vocal tone reminiscent of Kurt Cobain.

Their indie-pop melodies, bolstered by intricate guitar leads and driving bass have lead them to a series of soldout shows at NYC Venues such as Mercury Lounge, The Bowery Electric, Pianos, and The Bitter End. Also, they spent a month in the mountains of North Carolina, where they recorded their debut album. The recording was done in the basement of an abandoned church with the help of Brooklyn-based producer, Tyler Brown, and mastering engineer, Dan Millice (A$AP Rocky, Al Green, 50 Cent).
