Manila Killa (Chris Gavino) is a decorated producer with an expansive repertoire of accolades. Not too long ago, he released a blissful dance single, titled, “Sleepless,” featuring Panama and remixed by the talented New York duo, The Knocks.
Manila Killa – “Sleepless” single featuring Panama (Remix by The Knocks)
“Selecting The Knocks to remix ‘Sleepless’ was one of the easiest decisions during the album process. I’ve always been a huge fan of theirs and how effortlessly they express their styles through their original tunes. They’ve absolutely done the track justice and somehow managed to accentuate Panama’s stellar vocals even further.” – Manila Killa stated
By implementing their own creative twist on Manila Killa’s “Sleepless,” B-Roc and JPatt of The Knocks once again show that no track is beyond their creative capabilities. Having created a total of three full-length albums and five EPs, it’s clear this duo spares no effort when it comes to their musical output.
Approaching “Sleepless” with a full-bodied and airy twist, The Knocks formulate an upbeat, yet smooth house track that offers a different, slightly groovier dynamic than the original. But like Manila Killa’s rendition, The Knocks remix of “Sleepless” takes great caution to let Panama’s vocals shine, nestled in between a smooth and sultry instrumental perfect for any setting.
‘Sleepless’ contains an infectious vibe that will resonate well with fans of Rufus Du Sol, Zhu, and Lane 8. Also, the original version of the song is featured on Manila Killa’s debut album, entitled, “Dusk.”
