Human Eyes

“Human Eyes” is a poignant exploration of personal struggle and societal relationships. The lyrics poignantly express feelings of isolation and the haunting question of what it means to be truly seen. Lines such as, “Alive as I stare into the human eyes” resonate with listeners who have grappled with feeling misunderstood. MÄNA’s reflective tone invites her fans to delve deeper into the emotional landscape of the song, where she asks why one can encounter such pain yet continue to pretend everything is fine.

The chorus reveals the raw emotions of despair and confusion, with lines like, “You’re a ghost and I can’t shake off.” This metaphor illustrates the weight of emotional baggage that many carry, possibly evoking memories of their experiences. MÄNA communicates complex feelings through her music for listeners navigating their own lives. As she seeks to connect with her audience, “Human Eyes” reflects her growth and contemporary societal issues.

In her own words, MÄNA explains, “‘Human Eyes’ is a deeply personal song born from a painful breakup experienced last year. It explores the disillusionment that arises when we realize someone, we thought we knew is actually different from our perception. The lyrics convey the internal struggle between the desire to reconnect with the idealized image we had of this person and the recognition that distancing ourselves is necessary for personal growth. The song captures the difficulty of this journey, highlighting how memories linger and haunt us, making the path to healing both challenging and complex.”

MÄNA has been involved with music since she was 10 years old. At the Ecole Régionale de Musique de la Ville de Dudelange, she studied music theory at the age of 10, then she played the violin and the transverse flute. MÄNA is still an orchestra member, in which she plays the flute. At 14, she finally dared to take singing lessons in “Chant Modern.” Since then, she has sung on different stages for different occasions as a solo singer or accompanied by an orchestra.

MÄNA finally took the big step of releasing songs as she tried participating in the national preselection for the ESC. Even though her song was declined, she took this experience as an entry for creating and releasing songs.
