“We don’t have to be here if we stay. We don’t have to leave if we go. Roll some mo’ and we ain’t too high to see eye to eye. Know you feel the rush from a simple touch. Baby, roll some more.” – lyrics
Vevo DSCVR is an annual series which highlights artists who are shaping the future of music. One of these artists is Lucky Daye, a rising R&B star who spent his formative years in a religious cult with his mother. While there, he taught himself melodies through Bible verses and Dr. Seuss’ rhymes.
After fleeing the group, and finally being introduced to secular music, his life in Louisiana was suddenly washed away by Hurricane Katrina.
The natural disaster forced him to relocate to Texas, then Atlanta, and eventually Los Angeles, where he ended up signing to Keep Cool/RCA Records.

The video finds a female with an afro on the patio adding the finishing touches to a tightly-rolled blunt. Shortly afterward, she enters a colorful-designed home and eventually finds Lucky Daye seated in a spacious room awaiting her arrival.
‘Roll Some Mo’ contains a dreamy storyline, sweet soul vocals, and luxurious instrumentation flavored with modern R&B and retro-soul components.
Check out Lucky Daye’s live video performance of his “Concentrate” single and you will further understand why Vevo included him in their DSCVR program.
Lucky Daye – “Concentrate” (Vevo performance)
“I been riding through the streets two weeks fighting, calling you baby. Know you get a kick out of kicking it. Then stalling me crazy, let’s get curious, took it serious. Take the best of life offering baby. You know how it goes. First, you lose your clothes. We start f*cking ’round now we in it.” – lyrics
