“You might not like what I’m ‘bout to say now, but I just gotta be honest with you. I want you to know I’m here, yeah. See, I f**k with you but not like that. I guess I like you but not like that. We’re together baby but together babe. And the crazy thing is we got something special right here. We could just be cool and keep it like this right here.” – lyrics
‘Just Talk’ tells a bittersweet tale of a young woman who shares a special friendship with an important individual in her life. Apparently, she and her friend are cool, and she loves spending time with him. However, she doesn’t want to get too close to her friend because being too close to him might mess up their special bond.
‘Just Talk’ contains a relatable narrative, stellar vocals, and rich harmonies. Also, the stripped-back tune possesses guitar-driven instrumentation flavored with a warm indie-R&B aroma. ‘Just Talk’ serves as a fantastic presentation to what listeners can expect to hear from an artist with a promising future. Furthermore, the song will be featured on Lotus’s upcoming debut EP, entitled, GET LO.
“And the crazy thing is we got something special right here.”
“I’ve been in a situation where I was confused about my feelings for someone. But one thing I knew for sure was how special the connection was to me, and how things are smooth between us. I’d rather keep it on that level and be honest about it.” – Lotus Ma’at stated
Lotus Ma’at signifies a spiritual and balance being. She has a broad musical palette ranging from Frank Ocean and Brandy to Jazmine Sullivan. Her music fits somewhere in the same sonic ballpark with songs created by Jhené Aiko and Summer Walker.
