Lisa Crawley (@lisacrawleymusic) is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter from New Zealand. Not too long ago, she released an official music video for her empowering indie-pop single “What You Can Do,” the first glimpse from her forthcoming EP “New Girl Syndrome,” available in April 2025.

For “What You Can Do,” Lisa worked with John Spiker to merge the retro and modern flourishes, adding layers to the piano-focused track. The song is about the constant questioning of identity outside of your career.
“What You Can Do” resonates deeply, reminding listeners that their worth goes beyond the work they produce. The poignant line, “You can only do so much baby, you’ve got your work cut out for you,” speaks volumes about the limitations we put on ourselves.
In her own words, Lisa Crawley explains, “I’ve been labeled a ‘workaholic,’ but saying no can be scary. Creating space to explore other parts of myself is confronting but important.”
As a musician, it can be a struggle to say ‘no’ to work or people that don’t serve you. The reminder to “Take a breath, in fact, go and take two” is an essential mantra for anyone feeling overwhelmed by their responsibilities. Recognizing that “You are more than what you can do” is vital for maintaining a healthy balance between your personal identity and professional life.
Lisa Crawley
Lisa Crawley has been immersed in music since the age of four. Numerous albums, EPs, and singles later, her refreshingly honest onstage presence and emotionally authentic pop songs enchant the hearts and minds of an ever-growing global audience.
Crawley moved to Los Angeles in early 2020, after career forays in London and Melbourne. Emerging from her first year in L.A., during which she eschewed pandemic realities to thrive and survive, Crawley released her EP “Looking for Love (In A Major),” featuring the singles “The Right Way,” “Looking for Love,” and “Clear History.”
Crawley is a four-time APRA Silver Scroll Award nominee and was twice selected for the prestigious Banff Centre songwriter residency (Canada), where many of her notable songs were written.
A natural collaborator, Crawley has worked with luminary antipodean songwriters Tim Finn, Greg Johnson, and Hugo Race, and created her show “Elizabeth” with Bullet Heart Club (Daffodils). Crawley has performed her own song arrangements with the Auckland Symphony Orchestra and opened for Suzanne Vega, John Mayer, Jools Holland, Paul Weller, and Simply Red. More recently, she donned her acting hat to star as ‘GIRL’ in the Tony Award-winning musical “Once.”
Over the past year, Crawley harnessed her insatiable creative drive to write “Show You What Love Is,” “Tragedy Boy,” “Clear History,” and “See Me Soon,” all produced with Grammy-nominated Rob Kleiner. Crawley’s songs also graced the airwaves of US TV shows Nancy Drew, Good Trouble, Stumptown, and Proven Innocent.
