“Babe, I’m fist-fighting with fire, just to get close to you. Can we burn something, babe? And I run for miles just to get a taste. Must be love on the brain that’s got me feeling this way. It beats me black and blue, but it does me so good and I can’t get enough. Must be love on the brain and it keeps cursing my name. No matter what I do, I’m no good without you.” – lyrics
‘Love On the Brain’ tells a heartfelt tale about a young woman who shares a problematic relationship with her significant other. Apparently, she’s head-over-heels in love with her partner, who seems to be falling out of love with her. Not wanting to get played like a violin forces her to asks her companion, “Want do I have to do to get inside your heart?” Furthermore, “Love On the Brain” contains a troubled relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of Amy Winehouse, Rihanna, and Alicia Keys.
Kristin Husøy considers “Love On the Brain” as a masterpiece. One of the most honest, classic, and sad love songs there is. Rihanna’s outstanding melodies, rhythms, and excellent performance intrigued the young star to cover “Love On the Brain” with great passion.
