Kiara Janae is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Boston, Massachusetts. Not too long ago, she released a lovely indie-R&B single, titled, “Wrong About.”
Kiara Janae – “Wrong About” single
“I’ve been so stuck in my ways, ain’t nothing anyone could say to change my mind up. But I think the times up, I gotta try something new, something other, other than you. So, I’ve been drinking dark liquor and I take it down quicker than you’ve ever seen me. Would you even believe me if I said I’m smoking cigs now to get the taste of you out of my mouth?” – lyrics
‘Wrong About’ tells a heartfelt tale about a young woman who realizes she has to change her point of view in regard to life. Her ex-partner was the only person she was sure about, but when he let her down in the worst way, she had to make some adjustments. With a head filled with doubt, she tells her ex-partner, “I mixed it up with blondes and I can’t find nothing wrong with the way he touches me or the way she’s loving me. Been waking up in different beds to get you out of my head, and it’s working.”
‘Wrong About’ contains a post-relationship-based narrative that will resonate well with anyone who recently came out of a problematic relationship. The likable tune possesses melodic drum-laden instrumentation flavored with a warm indie-R&B vibration. Furthermore, “Wrong About” follows mildly on the heels of Kiara Janae’s previously released single, “After Me.”
“I gotta figure out what else I’ve been wrong about.”
“I wrote ‘Wrong About’ while reflecting on the transition period that followed my last break-up. I felt so safe in that relationship but ended up completely blindsided. This set me on a spiral where I began to lose trust in everything, including my own judgment. What else had I been this wrong about? Although this song delves into feelings of loneliness and uncertainty, I want ‘Wrong About’ to cast a lighthearted outlook over it, documenting experimentation that can lead to personal growth.” – Kiara Janae explained
