Kelsy Karter – “Catch Me If You Can”

“I ran away with only ten bucks in my pocket. And a 20 thousand ransom for my head. My baby said I didn’t take it like he wanted. So I kissed him on the neck and shot him dead.” – lyrics

‘Catch Me If You Can’ contains a dreamy storyline, driving pop vocals, and an infectious instrumentation perfumed with a classic rock scent.

“‘Catch Me If You Can’ is about that time I killed the love of my life. I broke up with my boyfriend and he told me that he died inside. I destroyed someone I love very much. And it took me back to that feeling I described in ‘God Knows I’ve Tried’. Where I’m always painted as the bad girl. I felt like a criminal. Never in my life had I wanted to run away in my rocket ship to Mars more than that day. Sammy Witte and I wrote this on my birthday and it’s become one of my favorites off of my record.” – Kelsy Karter

Karter’s musical influences include Queen, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. Also, her music is rebellious, nomadic in spirit, and shouts “classic rock” blended with contemporary elements.

“I want to be an artist that speaks to my generation. If you want a 50-year career then you have to be innovative and ahead of what’s next. The drum patterns and guitar tones on my record definitely veer toward those early Beatles/Stones vibes. But my stories and ideas will always move and grow with me in the modern world.” – Kelsy Karter
