Women are running hip-hop (Kelley Carter). Women are really having a moment right now (Speedy Morman). One of those women is GloRilla, an award-winning hip-hop artist from the North Memphis neighborhood of Frayser, Tennessee.
“I came in at a point and time where it was time for women to start dominating,” says GloRilla. “I’m cheering every female rapper on, keep going, keep doing it, we got this.”
Of her debut album, GloRilla stated, “I plan on going number 1.” She plans to “make another song that’s going to have all the girls screaming––another anthem.”
