“I’ve always been a huge fan of The Beatles and this song is one of my favorites. I knew I had to do a Beatles song when I heard we were going to be spending a couple of days at Abbey Road Studios. And what better time than on the run-up to John Lennon’s 80th Birthday. The song has taken on a whole new level of potency for me with everything going on in the world at the minute. I really felt this one in my stomach. I hope you do too.” – JP Cooper explained
Recorded on hallowed ground, JP Cooper appropriately cut “Let It Be” at Abbey Road Studios in London. He delivers a captivating performance, amplifying the song’s immortal message for the modern generation. Furthermore, “Let It Be” is just one of many incredible performances found on JP Cooper’s six-track EP, entitled, “Covers.”
‘Covers’ finds JP Cooper delivering his own renditions of Billie Eilish’s “everything I wanted,” which racked up millions of views. Also, the project includes a series of BBC Live session performances of Lauryn Hill’s “Ex-Factor” and Dua Lipa’s “Hotter Than Hell.”
The personal reflections in Cooper’s debut album, “Raised Under Grey Skies,” introduced him as a deeply affecting, soulful songwriter. Now, these new singles find Cooper expanding his sound, imbuing his distinctive vocals and infectious hooks with modern energy.
