The film stars Aiko (Penny), a woman mourning her brother’s death. To cope with the pain, she goes to the beach to write. While there, she meets a man named Dante. He persuades her to take a trip with him.
In association with her short film, Aiko also released her second studio album and a poetry book. The album is part of a project, entitled, MAP, which is an acronym for Aiko’s Movie: (Trip-the short film), her Album (Trip), and her Poetry book (2fish).

“Trip” is another song I worked on with [producer] Mali. I feel like he’s someone who’s very connected to a higher power. So, I customized the song to what I’d say, but, for the most part, it was like he literally channeled something that needed to be said to me. And it was just magic.” – Aiko explained
