J.I. (The Prince of N.Y) is a rapper from Brooklyn, New York. Not too long ago, he released a music video for his “Need Me” single.
J.I. – “Need Me” music video
“I gotta move a type of way, knowing it ain’t easy. ‘Cause at the light is where these ni^^as tryna leave me. I gotta be cautious, these ni^^as like to talk sh*t, I remember when I pulled up on your shorty and she lost it. I was in the trenches, I was moving with them bosses. You was on the benches, you was dwelling over losses.” – lyrics
‘Need Me’ finds J.I. addressing a special female in his life.
Apparently, she’s stressing ‘cause a dude did her wrong. Therefore, J.I. tells her to call his phone when she needs to talk.
Later, he admits that he’s greedy and wants her to himself because she turns him on.
‘Need Me’ contains a relatable storyline, conversational rap vocals, and melodic instrumentation flavored with breakbeats and contemporary rap elements.
The beat contains a sample of “Best Of Me” by Jay-Z and Mýa from DJ Clue Presents: Backstage mixtape.
Also, “Need Me” is featured on J.I.’s “Hood Life Krisis Vol. 1” EP.
