Hudi (Hudson Prichett) is an up-and-coming rapper. Not too long ago, he released a music video for his new alternative-rap single, titled, “Yung,” via Nettwerk Music Group.
Hudi – “Yung” music video
‘Yung’ finds Hudi rapping about being young and representing his city. But don’t let his young age fool you because Hudi has experience, he knows some things. Hudi raps, “She don’t rock Prada, rock Louis Vuitton, ’cause everything always off ’round me. Okay, need a whole lotta a$$ in the Impala, but it’s not tame ’round me. Okay, I’ma big baller, big like Biggie Poppa, everyone wanna kick it ’round me.”
Yung is projected to keep Hudi’s name circulating in music-related discussions. The song contains a relatable narrative and mellow rap vocals that will resonate well with fans of blackbear and Jack Harlow. The nostalgic tune possesses saturated drums, bass, and guitar-laden instrumentation flavored with an alternative-rap vibration. Furthermore, “Yung” is featured on Hudi’s new seven-track EP, entitled, “Holy Smokes!“

Hudi is an early Aughts uptown kid whose grandmother nicknamed him Huddy. He grew up with the sounds of 50 Cent, Jay-Z, The Neptunes, Missy Elliott, and Eminem in his Walkman headphones. The budding artist first experimented with making music in secret, borrowing his mother’s blue snowball mic (she sings, teaches vocal coaching at NY, and at one time, wrote for The New York City Jazz Record). Also, Hudi messed around with Garageband and Logic in the confines of his room.

Hudi taught himself how to produce on YouTube before releasing his first project at the age of 17. Fast forward a couple of years after being discovered on Soundcloud, Hudi was introduced to his current manager who coincidentally happens to be a former student of his mother’s. Hudi’s debut EP, “TSAR” (2020), earned praise from notable media outlets. Also, his talents have already garnered playlist support from Spotify (New Music Friday, Fresh Finds, Anti Pop) and Apple Music (Chill Rap, Emo Rap, Vibes).
