“Sugar and water, bologna, and mustard. Rip off the edges, throw in the pan, looks like a flying saucer. What if I told you one day on your plate, you’ll have shrimp, salmon, and steak? You could eat what you want every day, but you gotta wait, you gotta wait.” – lyrics

‘Young Bull’ tells a triumphant tale about waiting and being patient. Eventually, you’ll have everything you want. But right now, your car probably feels like being in a toaster. It’s pulled over on the side of the road ’cause the motor isn’t working right. You’re in for one hell of a ride. One day, you’ll get to the other side. With passion, Hak Black sings with great comfort, “What if I told you, one day, you’ll escape to palm trees and beaches on an escapade? And you can go anywhere any day, but you gotta wait.”

‘Young Bull’ contains a relatable narrative and ear-pleasing vocals that will resonate well with fans of Devin Morrison. The likable tune possesses dreamy piano chords, syncopated bass, and guitar-laden instrumentation flavored with a warm contemporary R&B vibration. Furthermore, “Young Bull” will be featured on Hak Black’s upcoming EP, entitled, “The Kid From Yesterday.”

“We made it, young bull.”

“This is a part of an upcoming EP, called, ‘The Kid From Yesterday,’ where songs are written to and from my younger self. This song is to my 5-year-old self, living in the hood and dreaming every day of living like the people I saw on television. Telling him to be patient and that we’ve made it out.” – Hak Black explained

Hak Black attended the Dekalb School of the Arts in Decatur, Georgia, where he studied music theory and theater. Also, he was one-half of the production duo, Pitch Black, responsible for “Previouscats” by Musiq Soulchild, “Stunnas” by Jagged Edge, and many other songs. Hak left the music business in 2010 and became a bedroom-pop enthusiast, self-recording and releasing songs as a passion.
