Frankie Maurie is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter. Not too long ago, she released a lovely debut single, entitled, “Downfall.”

Frankie Maurie – “Downfall” single

“The dim light from the corner of the room, it casts shadows on the wall in your bedroom. Almost dreaming while you’re lying beside me, I can’t sleep. Thinking about what this could be, I’m emotionally invested. Three months, now I’m tempted to keep you around. The thoughts that I’m thinking, will it stop when I blink? And will you still be around if I trip or I fall? Will you catch me or not?” – lyrics

‘Downfall’ tells an intriguing tale about a young woman who shares a budding relationship with her significant other. Apparently, she is extremely happy with her situation, and also head-over-heels in love with her partner. Later, she admits that there is nowhere she would rather be than being with her companion.

“I still love the way that you say, ‘I love you.’”

“‘Downfall’ is a song about jumping into a serious relationship and fearing the worst that could happen. Also, it’s about being so head over heels for someone that you start to worry about how it might end and how it may affect you.” – Frankie Maurie explained

‘Downfall’ contains a relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocalization, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of  Lana Del Rey and Borns. The sentimental tune possesses guitar-laden instrumentation flavored with a dreamy indie-pop vibration. Furthermore, “Downfall” serves as a wonderful introduction to what listeners can expect to hear from Frankie Maurie in the near future.

“The way that you smile, I wanna know just what you see.”
