Ellie Goulding is a multi-platinum-selling megastar from Hereford, England. Not too long ago, she released a visually appealing music video for her “Like A Saviour” single, directed by Joe Connor with choreography by Daniel Alwell. The video features Ellie and a cohort of backing dancers stranded in a desert – a landscape they must battle against as the song reaches its epic crescendo finish.

“Sleep with your shadow trying to find my faith in tomorrow. Tired of holding onto the memories how I used to bleed for love. Got sick of the battle, gave myself a heart made of metal. Calling out for someone to rescue me, thank you danced into my life. Beautiful visions come to me, and they stay forever. Electric feelings keep me dreaming, I won’t let go.” – lyrics
‘Like A Saviour’ tells a heartfelt tale about a grateful young woman who appreciates the person who helped to get her out of the darkness she once inhabited. She aptly labels her rescuer “her savior” and the reason why she feels good. Later, she joyfully admits, “Shot with your arrow, suddenly I feel like I can let go of all the insecurities weighing me down. Now, I’m ready to drown with you.”
With a pulsating bassline juxtaposed with ‘80s-tinged synths, “Like A Saviour” finds Ellie Goulding once again delivering a high-energy pop smash. Furthermore, the song will be featured on her hotly anticipated fifth studio album, entitled, “Higher Than Heaven (Deluxe),” set for release on March 24th via Interscope Records.

“There was definitely a darkness about [the past two years] that was palpable in the studio, with everyone having gone through it differently. I think for that reason, nobody wanted to sit and agonize over some relationship or some drama. So that’s how this album came together. [Higher Than Heaven is] about being passionately in love. But it’s a hyper form of love, almost like a drug-induced feeling. It feels almost artificial and there’s the potential for a crash.” – Ellie Goulding explained
Ellie Goulding enlisted some of pop music’s finest to craft the album with her, including Greg Kurstin (Sia, Maggie Rogers, Elton John), Jessie Shatkin (Charli XCX, Years & Years), Koz (Sam Ryder, Madonna, Dua Lipa) and Andrew Wells (Halsey, Yungblud). Putting her own spin on modern pop music, “Higher Than Heaven” is jam-packed with infectious hits featuring Ellie’s signature vocals taking center stage. The top-notch production on the pop album sparkles with stomping basslines, soaring synths, and euphoric melodies.
Ellie rang in 2023 with a dazzling performance of “Let It Die” on CNN’s New Year’s Eve with Anderson & Andy, following a special appearance earlier in the fall as a presenter at the American Music Awards.
