DKOHH is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California. Not too long ago, he released a chill indie R&B tune, entitled, “Swing Set,” via Vokall Records.
DKOHH – “Swing Set” single
“You don’t call anymore, oh, girl, I’m sorry. But I don’t like how you’re always tryna solve me. I know you think everything is obvious, but just because you’re alone don’t mean I’m driving up. Listen, new day the same old story. Don’t know what you want from me, what you want? You see me I’m not worried, I’m right where I wanna be, right where I want.” – lyrics
‘Swing Set’ tells an intriguing tale about a young guy who wants his ex-girlfriend to stop playing games. Not too long ago, she admitted that she’s done with their on-and-off relationship – but he believes that she doesn’t mean it. Therefore, he tells her, “I don’t need to give you no reason, you hate me so let’s call it even. It’s not that deep and we both know the fight is mainly just for show.”
‘Swing Set’ contains a relationship-based storyline, pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of Tom Misch. The mellow tune possesses guitar and trumpet-laden instrumentation flavored with a chill indie-R&B vibration. Furthermore, “Swing Set” follows mildly on the heels of DKOHH’s debut single, entitled, “Summer In Chicago,” a tribute to his second home.
“If you’re gonna keep calling, don’t call me names.”
“‘Swing Set’ is about a summer fling that just turned sour. While you never actually hear the words ‘swing set,’ it’s definitely a reference to the cliché young love summer fling and how hot and cold the fling was (swinging back and forth). It’s still a feel-good track to play while you’re cruising with the windows down, or even at a chill night in with friends.” – DKOHH explained
DKOHH finds blessings in every aspect of every day. He is currently pursuing a Theater major and Music Industry minor at UCLA. Also, he draws influence from a wide range of artists from Frank Sinatra to Drake. His musical style contains an old soul mixed with a contemporary feel.
