Dipo releases a music video for his “Ain’t No Love” single

Dipo is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter from Lagos, Nigeria. Not too long ago, he released a music video for his lovely blues tune, entitled, “Ain’t No Love”.

Dipo – “Ain’t No Love”

“If you got money you got all you need. But if you got your honey, you got all that you could ever want. There ain’t no love for a lazy man.” – lyrics

The dynamic audiovisual tells a bittersweet tale of a couple who are at the tail end of a once prosperous relationship. Apparently, the man wants to resolve their issues, but the woman doesn’t want to reconcile their differences.

While riding together in an open-top vehicle, they are quiet, and the distance between them is obvious. The woman, seated behind the steering wheel, drops the man off at an apartment building. She drives away without looking back at him standing there with a suitcase in his hand.

Shortly afterward, while dining at a restaurant, she reminisces on a good memory shared with him, but the sunny thought is too painful to bear.

In the end, she leaves a folded $20 bill on the table to pay for her meal, and surprisingly, her wedding ring also. Her departure out of the restaurant signifies her walking out of the relationship forever.

‘Ain’t No Love’ contains a relatable storyline, powerful soul vocals, and luxurious instrumentation flavored with bitter blues and raw soul.

Dipo was inspired by the music of Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Teddy Pendergrass, and Afro-beat legend Fela Kuti. Therefore, it comes as no surprise why his music has a nostalgic imprint.

A standout vocalist, Dipo’s effortless and elegant sound is guaranteed to warrant attention. He has shared the stage with some of Nigeria’s finest musical exports including 2face Idibia, D’banj, and Wande Coal.

We recommend adding Dipo’s  “Ain’t No Love” single to your personal playlist. Also, let us know how you feel about it in the comment section below.
