Devonish has always loved singing ever since she knew she could at 10 years old. But she only started taking it seriously in 2018 during her gap year after graduating from Providence College. Her brother came up with the idea of selling his original music on CDs and once they made their first sale it sparked an interest in Devonish.
She spent the year selling mixtapes, performing at local live shows, partnering with stores, and selling as a vendor at local events with her brother. After the two parted ways, she decided to record her music and learn about music distribution and the music business.
Devonish credits her mother for her being so courageous and strong-minded. Her mother is the woman that made her believe she can do anything she puts her mind to. Devonish is very curious by nature and an avid dabbler but her first love is music. She doesn’t like to hold herself to one genre, but reggae has strongly influenced her music as she incorporates her Jamaican patois in her music.
