Cristina Hart (@iamcristinahart) is a London-based singer-songwriter. Not too long ago, she released a sentimental pop single, “Like My Father,” distributed via Apollo.
Cristina Hart – “Like My Father” single
“I wrote ‘Like My Father’ about my fear of abandonment. I think sometimes we can all feel like we’re either too much or not enough; and at our worst, our mind can even convince us that we’re unlovable. This song is about that unspoken but very real insecurity.” – Cristina Hart explained
“Like My Father finds a vulnerable Cristina Hart opening up about her ‘complicated’ relationship with her father and reflects on the way that it has bled into other relationships in her life. The effects of these complications have a way of influencing the way she approaches situations and people later in life, as well as affecting her trust in other people. In “Like My Father” Cristina articulates this poetically with grace. It is an honest and sincere account that leaves listeners feeling sympathetic to her situation, but for those who have experienced similar heartbreak in the family home, it is sure to resonate with them on many levels.
“Like My Father” contains gentle melodies blended with lyrical sensibility and melancholic in sound and sentiment. The song has just been announced as BBC Introducing Essex and Cambridegshire’s Track Of The Week.
“But if he’s anything, anything like my father, then he’s gonna leave me.”
In 2023, Cristina Hart released singles “Crash,” “Too Young To Die,” and most recently “Rewind,” which was very well received and found its way onto Spotify playlists like New Music Friday UK, Fresh Finds UK & IE, and New Pop UK. Cristina has also had continuous support from BBC Introducing throughout the years, as well as recently being played on BBC Radio 1 on Mollie King’s Future Pop Show. Entering 2024 with this emotionally raw single, Cristina Hart cements her place in the UK Pop scene, with music more on the way!
With a relentless drive to write, collaborate, and record, Cristina Hart will be releasing two sister EPs, “Online Therapy” and “Therapy Notes” throughout 2024. The first of the EPs is the more vulnerable, intimate one with songs that will make you tap into those emotions that you’ve tried to repress but that should come out eventually if you want to find closure.
Cristina Hart
Half Spanish and half Brazilian, born in Switzerland and living in the UK, Cristina Hart moved to London at 18 to pursue her music dreams. Fast-forward a few years and Hart is at the forefront of the emerging UK pop scene with support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, and Amazing Radio.
In 2023, she supported Sonny Tennet on his UK tour. More recently, she played her first headline show at The Waiting Room which was sold-out, and was later on handpicked by Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, One Direction) to play Wander Festival. She then went on to headline the iconic O2 Academy Islington as part of a Fresher’s Showcase.
Songwriting is at the heart of her music and telling stories that often don’t get told is one of her favorite things to do. From feelings that are often difficult to articulate such as grief to the chaotic and messy ups and downs of life, Cristina writes it all down and wraps them in melodies that give you a voice, a safe space.
Inspired by the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Conan Gray, and Tate McRae, Hart doesn’t corner herself into a strict genre and likes to jump from pop/rock guitar-drenched bangers, such as ‘Crash’ and ‘Never Be Her,’ to more intimate, vulnerable songs like her upcoming singles ‘Before You’ and ‘Like My Father.’
