“Find what you love and let it drain you of your pride. What I’m dreaming of is not enough. The highest climb is what I’d like ‘cause every night I think I might be satisfied. I spite my health and fight myself and cross the line. Oh, faith, how do I get closer to you?” – lyrics

Faith’ finds Courtney Fox singing about having complete trust or confidence in herself. The introspective tune contains ear-pleasing vocals, tuneful melodies, and a relatable theme inspired by Frank Ocean and Erykah Badu.

Furthermore, “Faith” possesses lush instrumentation flavored with a warm neo-soul vibration. Also, “Faith” serves as a fantastic introduction to what listeners can expect to hear on Courtney Fox’s upcoming debut EP, recorded and produced by Roman Clarke.

“Call me holy, ‘cause I’m shallow. Proudly shouting my own hallowed by thy name.”

“I wrote this song about wanting so badly to be confident but constantly trying to better myself by pointing out the bad in me, which ends up in a cycle where I have no faith in myself. This song is about how I wish I was able to get closer to the feeling of trusting that I’m not a terrible POS and that it’s okay to mess up. Also, it’s about trying extremely hard to get closer to a sense of faith in your own choices despite the little voices in your head.” – Courtney Fox explained

Courtney Fox writes and sings on a number of other music projects including Bluebloods (as principal vocalist), Odd Outfit (a psych-soul experimental project she fronts) as well as Snackie and Roman Clarke (harmony vocalist). She loves to watch horror movies, make groovy things, read fiction novels, and play any J-RPG she can get her hands on.
