Chung is an up-and-coming rapper. She was raised in an Anglophone enclave in the LaSalle borough of Montreal, Canada. Not too long ago, she released a music video for her “High Waves” single, produced By Cotola (Agua Negra, Obia Le Chef, M.A.V.).
Chung – “High Waves” music video
‘High Waves’ contains relatable lyrics and ear-pleasing rap vocals that will resonate well with fans of Armani Caeser and Che Noir. The likable tune possesses melodic instrumentation flavored with a chill and mellow hip-hop/rap vibration. Furthermore, “High Waves” serves as an appetizing single from Chung’s upcoming debut EP. The project promises a combination of street narratives from a rude girl’s perspective.
Chung
Chung creates music for listeners to vibe to and drops lyrical gems for listeners to live by. She adopted her stage name from the Street Fighter character, a nod to her facial features as well as her interest in martial arts. The youngest of three, Chung grew up in a musical household. She was influenced by her Jamaican upbringing and her older brothers who’d listen to East Coast rap and southern hip-hop, all of which inspired her own love for timeless music.
Chung started writing at a young age and began her journey as a recording artist with her former group, Low Key Ent. Later, she collaborated with established local acts such as Nov, Boy6lue, VNCE Carter, YosoNova, and Nicholas Craven. While climbing the ranks, Chung caught the attention of industry heavyweights Conway and Roc Marciano by way of her witty pen game.
