Cat Clark – “Ghost” single
“The Butch Yung-directed audiovisual begins with an abstract compilation of Basquiat quotes. The quotes were all said in different periods of time, in different poems and writings, all combined into an intro that I felt related to the topic of the song itself. As an abstract statement, the compiled phrases represent my personal connection with creativity. It represents the way we channel our senses, our emotions, and our insanity into expression and art. We become gluttons for emotion, so as to have a medium to create. Basquiat was among the most highly regarded modern artists while maintaining an often depressing and tragic history. As a symbol of true expression, he reminds us all to embrace ourselves in every moment, in elation and in sadness.” – Cat Clark
‘Ghost’ contains a relatable storyline, pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the likable tune possesses melodic instrumentation scented with an urban aroma.
“Ghost” single
“‘Ghost’ is about exploring, accepting and making friends with personal polarity. I have always fought with depression, and ‘Ghost’ paints the picture of accepting both the sadness and the triumph that exists in one’s journey with depression. As a society, we often sedate, medicate and put these feelings under the rug. When we should really be fully expressing and accepting ourselves as we are, embodying the ‘Ghost’, the ‘God’ and all the emotions in between.” – Cat Clark
