Exploring the Magic of AR/CO and Don Diablo’s “Solar Eclipse” Single

AR/CO (@wearearco) is the powerhouse pairing of singer-songwriters and performers Mali-Koa and Leo Stannard. Don Diablo (@dondiablo) is a dance music superstar producer from the Netherlands.  Not too long ago, they returned with another stellar dance single titled “Solar Eclipse” via Helix Records.

“Solar Eclipse” is the second collaborative single between AR/CO and Don Diablo following “Hot Air Balloon,” one of the most popular tracks with over 85 million Spotify streams to date on Diablo’s 2021 album “Forever.” The new single, with its heavy bassline groove and popping instrumentation produced by Diablo, features an optimistic cosmic performance from AR/CO’s Mali and Leo.

“‘Solar Eclipse’ felt like a straight groover and Don knows all about keeping a record fresh and laid back,” says AR/CO. “It’s cool to collaborate again together, he’s always down to shift things into a world of his own sonically. It’s a natural synergy when our two worlds collide! After how loved ‘Hot Air Balloon’ has become, we knew we wanted to do another song when the timing was right. ‘Solar Eclipse’ is late warm nights, long drives, and dancing with the people you love.”

“It’s been such a joy to see AR/CO grow from the start,” adds Don Diablo. “Something magical happens whenever we put our heads together and I am super happy to finally have a big follow up to ‘Hot Air Balloon’ which is still gaining so much momentum three years after its release!”

If you want to step into the future, you have to take a step into the mind of Don Pepijn Schipper a.k.a. Don Diablo. This Dutch artist and musician is a true visionary who doesn’t just stick to one discipline. He’s all about breaking boundaries and challenging perceptions in music, art, fashion, and tech which has led him to work together with institutions and brands such as Disney, Sotheby’s, Netflix, The United Nations, and PACE gallery amongst others.

It is safe to say Don Diablo has reached a more than respectable status within the music industry after building his own HEXAGON brand, record label, and community which has resulted in him remixing and working in the studio with artists all across the board ranging from Ed Sheeran and Dua Lipa to Coldplay and Justin Bieber.

As a live performer, Don has been sitting comfortably in the top 10 of the DJ MAG Top 100 for five years straight. His third studio album, “FOREVER” delivered a whole new futuristic sound and recently reached over one billion global streams. If MGMT met Daft Punk at a dusty desert rave, you’d be stepping straight into the enigmatic and infectious soundscape of AR/CO. A whimsical cross-section where escapism meets reality, straight from the imaginations of Mali-Koa and Leo Stannard. AR/CO, an eternal haze of sunbeams over red rocks, a place where inhibitions are best left at the door. You’re invited to leave behind the remnants of a planet in tatters and encouraged to disappear into a new age.

The unique female/male dual vocal has created their distinct sound, garnishing attention from global A-list DJs. They recently joined Sub Focus during his Radio 1 Big Weekend headline set to perform their Radio 1 Hottest Record and A-List “Vibration (One More Time),” adding to a growing list of name collaborators who also include 220 KID, Don Diablo, Franky Wah, The Stickmen Project, and Tiesto.

AR/CO is taking that burgeoning reputation on the road by touring Europe as special guests to 5 Seconds of Summer and joining Kygo’s all-star bill at Gunnersbury Park. AR/CO’s collaborative releases have included “Hot Air Balloon” with Don Diablo (2021), “Under The Sun” with Franky Wah (2022), and Sub Focus “Vibration (One More Time).” Their debut EP, “Origin Stories,” boasted the stand-out single “Night Feels” with over 16 million streams on Spotify.
