Ananya is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter and musician from Zimbabwe. Not too long ago, she released a nostalgic music video for her “Marble Eyes” single.
Ananya – “Marble Eyes” music video
“Marble eyes, you never cried the way I did, last summer. So I took what’s mine for the final time. No, I won’t see you this December. But next time ‘round please stay away. I know dark rooms are your getaway. It’s where you touch my skin and each time I fall in. I can’t look at you, there’s too much bottled up inside.” – lyrics
‘Marble Eyes’ tells a heartfelt tale of a young woman who realizes that she is blinded by the power that her significant other has over her. Apparently, this desirable individual is her Achilles heel, someone who lives rent-free inside of her mind. Also, whenever she hears Coldplay on the radio, she exhales and thinks about the memorable moments that they experienced together.
‘Marble Eyes’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and catchy melodies. Also, the ‘80s-inspired tune possesses groovy instrumentation sizzling with an alternative-pop vibration.
“Marble Eyes” single
“‘Marble Eyes’ was written on an old receipt after visiting the MOMA and being reminded of a whirlwind relationship. Nostalgia creeps in and recaptures emotion experienced last summer.” – Ananya
After attending high school in Zimbabwe and Europe, Ananya moved to New York City to study Fashion Design and follow her musical passion. Playing both the piano and guitar, Ananya writes and produces her own music. Not too long ago, she released her debut single, entitled, “Aftertaste”. “Marble Eyes” is her follow-up single.
