“Miss U” encapsulates the bittersweet essence of heartbreak. With lyrics that dance between revelry and sorrow, Amanda Cy dives deep into the complexities of emotions. “I drank half the bar but now the thrill is gone, I miss you,” she laments, laying bare her vulnerabilities in a relatable confession.

From the very first lines, it’s clear that Amanda’s journey isn’t just about chasing after past love; it’s about the struggle of moving on. “Had a heart-to-heart with some girl I found, then lost, I miss you,” she sings, demonstrating how connections can slip through our fingers like grains of sand. The visceral imagery of “Spilling my secrets and all my drinks,” evokes a sense of candid, raw emotion, which many of us can resonate with.

“Miss U” articulates a universal struggle: the battle between letting go and holding on. “I push you away but I think you know the truth, I can’t let go, I know,” Amanda reveals, blending wit with poignancy as she examines her fears of loss. Overall, “Miss U” is a conversation with oneself about acceptance and the truth often lies beneath layers of bravado. As Amanda concludes, “Cause all that you are is all that I’m scared to lose,” listeners are left pondering their own experiences of love and loss.

In her own words, Amanda Cy explains, “I came up with the EP title “LOVEGRUNGE” and wanted a song to capture the concept. ‘Miss U’ is about wanting to have your cake and eat it, with sonics that express that chaotic feeling.”

Amanda Cy has developed strong partnerships, within an international community of creatives. She launched her artist career, with the self-released and critically acclaimed EP “Eugh!” in 2021, and the single “My Name Next to Yours,” was named one of 2021’s best songs by Vogue Scandinavia.

“Know Nothing” followed as the lead single from her 2nd EP “Waterworks.” The EP quickly gained traction, landing airplay on BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop and Sweden’s P3, while Spotify celebrated her as the face of Fresh Finds Nordics.

Amanda joined GRIFF on the Nordic leg of her European tour, captivating audiences with her unique sound and magnetic stage presence, and followed up, selling out her first headline show in Stockholm. Amanda channeled that momentum back into the studio, penning cuts with Daniela Rathana, Caity Baser, Gatlin & Cloudy June, before returning to focus on her material.

Outside of music, Amanda is a keen mountain climber and her experiences in the Swedish wilderness often inspire her – whether it’s to be in the moment and be still with a breath-taking view or analyzing the intricacies of systems that exist in nature.
