“‘Rapture’ was inspired by a wide variety of influences including Miguel, Paramore, Usher, and Stereolab. I wanted to create a song that showcases my abilities as a songwriter, a producer, and an instrumentalist. Up until this point I have largely been known as a trumpet player exclusively. So, I am taking this opportunity to show that I am a complete artist in my own right with a unique voice. My music is emotional, honest, introspective, and most of all, full of energy.” – Alonzo Demetrius explained
‘Rapture’ contains a relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with music lovers worldwide. The fresh and likable tune possesses groovy bass, trumpet, and thudding drum-laden instrumentation flavored with jazz and contemporary R&B elements. Furthermore, “Rapture” serves as an excellent demonstration of what listeners can expect to hear from Alonzo Demetrius in the near future as he continues to release new music.

“So many nights full of doubt, so many days where I questioned myself about who I really am, what I really am capable of. ‘Rapture’ is the first of many more songs to come but it signifies a lot to me. I’ve wanted to step out and use my voice as an instrument for years, but I could never find the courage. I had many people discourage me or try to tell me that I could never be taken seriously if I decided to sing, and it caused me to hide behind layers and layers of façade in order to do the things I thought people wanted from me. Today marks the day I finally get to be proud of myself for making a musical statement that feels authentic to who I’ve always wanted to be. For better or for worse, I’m in this for life, so might as well have fun doing this. ‘Rapture’ was born from a dark place but it provided healing at a time when I needed it most. Hopefully, somebody hears it, and it provides them with that same healing one day.” – Alonzo Demetrius explained
