Wale releases a response to J. Cole’s “Lost Prophets” song

Wale responded to J. Cole’s “Lost Prophets” song with “Groundhog Day”. The song reminded the Fayetteville emcee that he’s far from a false prophet, and people should respect him as a lyrical Ali or McGregor.

Wale – “Groundhog Day”

There’s no doubt that Wale is a dope emcee and his verse pinpoints a critical moment in his career. It’s a fact that he and J. Cole used to open up for JAY-Z.

But somehow, J. Cole ended up rapping a verse on “A Star Is Born”, a song off of J’s eleventh studio album, “The Blueprint 3”, in 2009. Sadly, Wale didn’t appear on it.

At the end of the day, J. Cole’s “Lost Prophets” isn’t a diss record, but a sentimental piece meant to inspire a friend.
