Somi releases “Petite Afrique”: A New African Jazz classic

Somi is a New African/Jazz singer of Ugandan and Rwandan heritage. Not too long ago, she released “Petite Afrique“, an album consisting of Jazz, African Pop, and pure shea-butter blackness.

Somi’s “Petite Afrique” pays homage to New York City upper Manhattan neighborhood, populated by West Africans and Muslims. The locals call this section of Harlem “Little Africa” or “Petite Afrique”.

Somi’s commitment to storytelling is clear, daring and relevant.
