Lucy & La Mer is spearheaded by Lucy LaForge, an indie/folk singer outta Los Angeles, California. Her newest single, “Honey, Put Your Weapons Down”, is a beautiful, Jared Lee Gosselin-produced ballad that chooses love over war.
“The central theme for the single is transitioning,” said LaForge. “Most of my songwriting happens when there’s a change occurring in my life.”
Our weapons of choice, our Twitter-fingers, ceased from typing, when we heard LaForge singing, “Honey, put your weapons down / ‘Cause I’m too tired to fight right now / I’ll make a white flag outta these sheets / If you can stop for a minute and lay down with me.”
The only problem is, what if your sheets ain’t white? But never mind that, LaForge is a gifted songwriter that gets her point across in a sincerely-heartfelt way; and we recommend playing “Honey, Put Your Weapons Down” if you want to diffuse any relationship argument before it escalates into something unlovable.
