Stormzy tells UK emcees: “You’re getting way too ‘Big For Your Boots’”

Grime-rapper Stormzy returns from his 9-month silence with a music video for ‘Big For Your Boots’, a lyrical-infested, braggadocios song off his long anticipated debut album “Gang Signs & Prayer“.

Stormzy sends a warning shot at UK emcees who are getting way too big for their boots.

Stormzy

“Man, I see bare MCs wanna sideline, but I still got a couple bangers in the pipeline. Man, I’ve got grown men @ing me bullshit. You’re getting way too old for the timeline. You’re getting way too old for a diss. Should’ve looked after your kids. Get out the booth, go home to your son. It’s never too late to commit. It’s like man love put my name in a bar. Random flight, get a plane to Qatar. This year, I learnt how to take care of business. Next year, I’ll learn how to play the guitar. You’re getting way too big for your boots. You’re never too big for the boot. I’ve got the big size twelves on my feet. Your face ain’t big for my boot.” – Stormzy lyrics

FUN FACT: Stormzy is a London-based MC with Ghanaian heritage. He performed his song ‘Shut Up’ during a boxing match between heavyweight boxers Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte. The song jumped into the Top 40 following the broadcast, and the rapper launched a campaign to have the song top the charts during Christmas. This boosted the track to the number eight position, and the number one position on the R&B singles chart. Listen to this blog on Youtube.
