Cosima is an emerging British R&B singer. Not too long ago, she released a music video for “To Build a House”, an enchanting ballad, originally written as a poem about Cosima’s absent father.
“I was like, I can sit here with it and not put it out because it’s so personal and because I’m scared of it revealing too much about myself,” stated Cosima, regarding the reason why she didn’t want to make the poem public. But then, she said the hell with it, and turned the poem into a song.
I think that when it gets that personal, it transcends the situation. The song kind of applies to everyone in that situation because for every child who feels like…there’s the mother of the child who’s waiting for that person.”
